Five Questions to Ask Any Print-on-Demand Brand

September 19, 2026 · 6 min read

Print-on-demand isn't a quality level, it's a logistics model. The same model produces both very good shirts and very bad ones, and the difference is visible in five answers.

1. What blank do you print on?

A named blank with published measurements means you can check the specification yourself. An unnamed blank usually means it changes with whatever is cheapest.

2. What print method?

DTG gives fine detail and a soft hand feel. It's the right method for type-led minimalist designs and the wrong one for large solid blocks of colour.

3. Is the collar taped?

Taped, ribbed collars survive; untaped ones don't. It's the single most reliable predictor of how a shirt looks after a year.

4. What happens when a print is wrong?

A serious brand replaces misprinted or damaged items free. Ours does that within 14 days of delivery with a photo.

5. How long from order to door?

Print-on-demand adds production time on top of shipping. Honest brands publish both numbers separately instead of hiding them in one range.

The short version

Named blank, DTG, taped collar, free replacement, published production and transit times. Five yeses is a good brand.
